HONDA HAWK GT650 vs VT250SPADA

As you know HONDA carried Hawk GT650 in 1988,which was had good potential at circuit use.

This Hawk's frame is aluminum box shape. I like this simple box shape frame.

After several years,HONDA developed another way to make aluminium frame.

Please see VT250SPADA's frame. Which has more complex shape.

Do not you think VT250SPADA & GT650 are closer brother in whole shape?

The generation of these models are beginning of aluminium frame which fed back from racers.

I love these simple HONDA V-twin classics.

New Ritmo Sereno FPR tank was installed

My R80RT has been suffering from rust problem. Insufficient fuel flow sometimes stops engine while driving.

Stock steel tank has rust tank inside as 1987 year model. When R80RT delivered,shop advised me it could happen rust problem.

So I decided to replace it with Ritomo's FPR tank which has never get rust.

Slash tank is flat side and has rubber pads. The twin lines are quite same as stock tank which drew by hands. Excellent! I am satisfied with it.

HONDA CB400

Have you seen CB400 in your country? It is called CB400 super four in JAPAN.
You will not see them except for Australia. Honda was exporting CB400 to Australia as a entry model.
HONDA has been selling many CB400 super four to Japanese market.
So many used CB400 is found,we can get used CB400 super four with reasonable price.
I am very interested in this model as a cafe racer base.

Above two photos are CB400SF is not cafe racer,but it is cool! I like it!

Kawasaki 250TR thumper

Have you seen Kawasaki 250TR Thumper in your country?

It had assembled Fuel Injection several years ago.

So,if your local dealer thought to import 250TR,

it will pass air-pollution regulation of your country.

Displacement 250cc is for entry model

but its engine shape is beautiful as a custom base.

I won 2001 SR400 on Yahoo Auction

When I saw SR400s on Yahoo Auction,I found a SR400 street tracker. It is almost my ideal SR.
It is changed to steel fenders,tracker handle bar and small speedometer.
What is best,it is stock black tank with white twin lines like classic BMW.

Starting price and buy now price was cheep,I bid without intent.
When auction ended,I was higher bidder of 41,000yen. How lucky I am! Suprising!

If I received it,I will change to short rear suspension.
But I have no idea what I should do next on this SR400.

Ducati 1/400

When I came back to the office from customer,

I came across Ducati limited version of Mike Hailwood.

Which is mag wheels not spoke wheels. Are they aftermarket parts?

I am not familier with Ducati classics.

Anyway that was admirable.

Trial

I placed used STINKY type-3 on SR400 Sun burst green as a trial.

This tank volume is bigger than stock tank. It mean it can run long distance.

R80RT stopped on highway again.

The shop took off rust inside of fuel tank.

After received my R80RT from shop,I tried to ride but it stopped again.

Sudden stop on high way is dangerous,I managed to back to my garage.

And I thought fuel filter before calibrator could be short of fuel.

Enough fuel did not go to carburetor. So I could not run R80RT over 60km per one hour.

I will get rid of filter and replace it with genuine BMW fuel hose.

SR400 customize plan

As I got used STINKY type-3 tank,I imagined red color on it.

How do you think?

R75/5 on e-bay

I found R75/5 on e-bay recently. This R75/5 changed to aluminum fenders and muffler.
And Corbin single seat is assembled. Tail lamp is LED. They might not big modification.
But it looks cool. I will get another BMW to customize like this.

STINKY type-3 tank

STINKY tanks are high quality but very expensive. It is not easy to buy at list price.

So I often see Yahoo Auction to find STINKY type-3 tank.

Yes. I installed this tank onto SR500 painted black.

I like this tank shape like beans.

Mr. Araki of STINKY explained it was inspired from MV Agusta 750S.

Yes. There were a lot of unique shape tanks at that generation.

Recently I am dreaming to make SR400 like Italian classic thumper like Ducati.

I came across used Type-3 tank on Yahoo Auction.

I won at 1/3 of list price consequently.

I have got 1986 BMW R80RT

Hi everyone,
I believe you are fine and run your motorcycle safely.
By the way, I received used R80RT yesterday.
And I have run R80RT a short distance this morning and felt good.
I used to own R80 for five years in the past,I could not forget R80 riding feel.
So,I sold Harley Davidson and purchased R80RT.
Just for information.

SR500 meets SR400

My SR400 is parked at parents house far far away from Tokyo. Distance is about 330km.

I stopped by parents house before I go to Single-bike meeting at Acti-Mori in Shizuoka prefecture.

This was first time modified SR500 met SR400 sunburst Green.

I customized SR500 like British classic bike and SR400 like street tracker.

I am satisfied with my SR500 and SR400. What should I do next on both SR? I have almost done already.

Time is Yesterday afternoon.

Before I started SR500 modification

The STINKY type-3 tank is very expensive to buy.

So I kept searching used rare tank on Yahoo Auction since I decided going with Type-3 tank.

I won fortunately at 27,500yen = US$280.00 with reasonable price.

A few small dent were on the tank surface,but it was no problem as I painted with black.

That was a beginning of my SR500 modification.

I moved SR500 on Nov.7 2009

I kept my SR500 for 11months at STKINY.

I moved it from STINKY to my Garage of Tokyo where I live in on Nov.7 2009.

On the way to Tokyo at highway, the key got away from key cylinder like a leaf fly away.

I did not pursuit key as I drove at about 90km/hour on highway.

I drove about 103km without stopping to Garage.

Of course,I ordered spare key immediately with quick key maker and received it 3days later.

What a pity first drive.
